a dash of lime

Shoes: Nine West, Nine West outlet
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs, eBay

These shoes were one of my purchases during my shopping spree yesterday at Birkenhead Point, the outlet mall. Originally $159, I got them on sale and deeply discounted for $27.30! I'd actually been eyeing them for over nine months, and I'm so glad I waited. A good bargain simply makes a purchase that much sweeter. :D

I adore the green-ness of these shoes! A reader asked me recently if I stick to a certain color palette because of my hair, and I'd never actually thought about it to before to be honest. When I did, though, I realized that I generally stick to warmer colors, like red, pink, orange, and yellow, because it complemented/clashed well with my hair. I had a quick look through my closet, and I noticed that I barely have any clothes in purple or green. So nowadays I'm making a concentrated effort on adding more of those colors to my wardrobe, and that's how I rationalized buying these shoes. :D

Another recent purchase evident in these photos is my new lens! I received the Pentax 35mm f/2.4 lens in the mail yesterday, and I've just been playing with it the entire time. Since it's such a small lens, it makes my camera so much lighter to carry, and my forearm thanks me for it. :) Also, the bokeh is gorgeous! Seriously, background blur seems to be the absolute pinnacle of style blogger achievement, and I'm glad I've finally reached that mythical stage with this lens. ;D

And a question for you guys: are there certain colors that you prefer to wear? Or any that you stay away from? Why? :)

xx

Those shoes are to die for. Good for you for waiting out the amazing deal. I think it's interesting that you have a limited closet due to your hair color. I also rock an unnatural mane (though far more conservatively than you) and haven't even thought of limiting my choices because of it.

what an amazing discount!!!
I prefer to wear yellow, blue, purple, and green. I'm not really fond of wearing black for some reason, so I seldom do it. I don't like pink but I own a lot of it so I wear it. I hate neon colors and wouldn't wear them, but I do like bright tones. I think it is because even when I was 6 and 7 - neon colors were the big new amazing thing in the start of 1990 and people were obsessed. They were just put into crayon boxes and I just didn't like seeing so much of it everywhere! It hasn't changed.
haha.

You are beautiful and have the prettiest clothes and shoes!

Fabulous shoes and great floral print! You are so good with color! I love lime right now, and it's a color I used to avoid. Then I tried it on and realized that it actually looks nice on me. Over the years I've gotten to the point where I'll try almost any color, but certain shades of certain colors don't do much for me...particularly neons, as Victoria mentioned, and some shades of yellow and orange. I also used to avoid pink, but once I cut my hair very short, I started gravitating toward pink because of how it offset the "boyishness" of my hair.

Wow, what a score! Gorgeous shoes to be sure :)

I thrifted something for you last night! It's in your usual color palette, but I do have my eye out for purple :D

I honestly like wearing all colors... I suppose my favorite is probably red, just because it's so vivid and lively.
