sparkle

This is what I was going to wear to the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival volunteer meet-and-greet today, but then, typical me, I worked up such a sweat taking these pictures that I ended up changing into a completely different outfit. This has happened multiple times...

Anyway, so I'm volunteering! I've pretty much done nothing productive all summer, so I want to squeeze in something noteworthy in my last couple weeks. I'll be doing three days -- I think it'll be fun!

This hair comb is my new favorite thing! I'd actually been lusting after vintage-inspired hair combs, with the burnished metal and intricate filligree designs. And then Cassie surprised me with this one for my birthday. Thank you so much Cassie, how do you know exactly what I want even though I've never told you?! :D

As you might be able to see, I've been going lighter with my hair color. I've switched from Manic Panic 'After Midnight Blue' to Directions 'Turquoise,' and I absolutely love it! I'm going back to black within the year, so this is a bit of a last hurrah -- it's bittersweet, but I'm also looking forward to officially growing up. ;D

Speaking of growing up, I'm starting my last year of uni at the end of this month. It's incredible how quickly the past two years have flown by, and this time next year, I'll be graduating! It's exciting and terrifying -- on one hand, I can't want to make my own way in this world, but on the other, school is the only life I've known...

This nail polish is 'Some Like It Haute' by China Glaze. It's kind of hard to tell, but it's an opaque glittery chrome shade -- my new favorite! So many times I've randomly caught myself staring at my nails, watching them sparkle, having completely forgotten what I was doing before that...
